                (adj.) of or pertaining to activism  or activists; advocating or opposing a cause or issue vigorously, especially a political cause

How many real world people or groups of people, particularly in Lynn with all of its issues, would you consider to be true 'activists' as it is officially defined (as opposed to simply a complainer or concerned citizen)?

Highlands Cleaup 6/9/12

There will be a Highlands Cleanup this Saturday, June 9th from 10am - 2pm. Meeting location is the Ford School yard located at 49 Hollingsworth Street and cleaning supplies as well as refreshments will be provided.  Priority areas to clean are:

• Rockaway Street / Rock Avenue
• High Rock Street
• Hollingsworth Street
• Bayview Avenue
• Hamilton Avenue

Both children and adults are welcome to participate.

Lynn School Committee Meeting: 12/8/11

Important issues to be discussed at this Thursday's (12/8) School Committee Meeting include:

• Unfinished Business: Deputy Superintendent Position (Tabled by S.C. on 4/28/11)
• A Vitamin D study which will hopefully take place at the Ford School
• School Enrollment as of December 1, 2011
• Superintendent's Evaluation
• A Prospectus for Innovation Schools (presented by Juli Ierardi)

The SC meeting will take at 90 Commercial Street at 7:00pm. SC meetings can also be viewed via television, Channels 3/16 (Comcast) or Channels 37/38 (Verizon).
